The British Comedy Guide: Edinburgh Fringe

We are fast coming up on the Edinburgh Fringe. Quite a number of our Australian comedians have been madly doing last minute fundraising for their Edinburgh shows. The Fringe is the world’s largest arts festival and closely trails Montreal’s Just for Laughs as largest comedy festival.
This year The Fringe will be presenting over 1300 comedy shows. This year the Melbourne International Comedy Festival presented 420, and our comedy festival is rated as the third largest in the world!
The Australian comedy community sees success at The Fringe as the holy grail of humorous accomplishment. Certainly many comedy careers were boosted into the stratosphere at that festival. Various members of the Monty Python crew, Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Steve Coogan, and our own Tim Minchin gained significant visibility.
If you are aiming at performing for The Fringe, then you would do well to take a peek at their festival guide. The British Comedy Guide has only just announced that comedy show information has gone up on their site.
